I live in New Jersey, right accross the river from New York. My 21 month old baby boy just diagnosed with autism. Came on suddenly. Lost his speech, bangs his head and rocks, lines up shoes all day if you let him, does not respond to his name at all, stares at wheels on cars and the stroller wheels. We are starting Early Intervention for him and he will have therapy in my home twice a day. From everything I read, Early Intervention is free in all the other states but here in New Jersey the parents have to cost share. They say the reason is because NJ has so many cases and it has become a burden for the state. I'm just wondering why we have so many cases. I am still in a grieving stage and trying to help my son but I am considering moving to another state. Does anyone have any feelings about this? I wouldn't necessarily do it for the early intervention, as your son has about a year left of it (it ends at age three) - I'd start looking into your school system, as that is coming up very soon. If you don't like the school system for any reason, I would probably consider moving. I lucked out... we chose the town we live in now, before my son was diagnosed. it turns out is has one of the best special ed public school systems. I have many friends who moved to this town, specifically for the school system for special ed. So I feel once your child is school age, even for typical kids, but especially for special needs kids, that if you can afford it/works for you.... that you should definitely consider moving to a town with a good school system, that will offer the services your son needs.
One thing though... maybe the system in NJ is so good, thats why so many families with autistic children live there, maybe they moved there for the services? Not sure.... I moved and my neighborhood alone, my son has PDD NOS, my neighbor across the street's son has asperger's, and two other neighbor's children have severe sensory integration disorder...... its odd. My daughter is Autistic and it is not easy. I also live in NJ and they offer little assistance, when we lived in NY there was so many more organizations and city programs available to assist us. Moving is definitely a viable option, check out you school district and there special needs programs try and find a support group and talk to locale parents and see how cooperative the school is and what other services might be available.
Early Intervention does wonders, my daughter has come a long way but it is still a challenge.

Early intervention services are not free for everyone in all other states. I live in Ky and when my son had an expressive speech delay, we had to make a copay to the program providing us the speech thearpy services. Also, when we did intake, we had to show our prior year's tax return to determine what copay we would be making. I'm very sorry to hear about your son's diagnosis and certainly pray that he can grow and adapt with his condition. Best of luck to you!

I believe the payment depends on your income (for OT and speech) I work for Burlington county and have worked in Gloucester and the difference between the two are incredable. Burlington provides so much more and has an education service unit that specializes in Autism with a case manager the comes every week to answer your questions.It is wonderful that you found out so early and are able to provide these services so soon. That will definitly make a difference. As far as the autism location question you asked no one really knows why. Maybe enviromental? Just a guess. Go on Autism speeks web site and also google your rights or request a copy....very impotant to know what your child is entitled to because they won't let you know. You don't have to move you just have to use your voice for your baby the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I have an 18 year old austistic daughter and she is doing fine. You have to fight for their rights to get the proper programs, but it can be done. Stay strong.

My advice: look for some organizations that offer discounted/free help. Contact your pediatrician and they may be able to suggest some organizations.
If you feel comfortable, try some clinical studies/trials, which could help.

I also have a child diagnosed with autism, was a very healthy, normal baby - no complications or strange things until about 15 months. She walked at a year, spoke and progressed very naturally - what seemed like a days worth of time she stopped being able to say 2 syllable words and starred into space and became very distant. She is 1 almost 11 now and is a very mild case and has been in the regular school system since she was 3. She started speech and physical therapy very young and is doing very well, most people cant even tell there is anything wrong with her. We have learned most of her triggers and she is able to calm herself and able to leave an area if it is too stimulating for her. I have read a lot about this and i have chosen not to vaccinate her and her younger brother, i don鈥檛 know if that is what did it but i cant come up with anything else that could have changed her. The fee that you have to pay is crap, but it really will help - my daughter has come SO FAR from when she was diagnosed and hopefully she will continue to mature and live a normal life. I also recommend trying to find classes or groups where you can learn what other autistic parents have learned thru trial and error with their children. Good luck to you and your child, i know what you are going thru and you really need people lean on and something that will help you to release stress and know that this isn鈥檛 your fault. I am in Wisconsin and my insurance is what covered my daughters therapy and then when she was 4 she went to a pre-school program and the school took over her therapy so i don鈥檛 know if its free here. Think of stress as a bullet fired from a gun. The bullet does not actually kill anyone, the injuries the bullet creates kills the victim. Stress is like a bullet. If it hits hard enough and at the right time the victim will sustain injuries capable of dead. Stress management is a basic human instinct. I would believe this to be possible in a child, but i would further investigate the child's overall mental and physical well being before going any further. Extreme cases of stress in adolescence have strong connections with psychotic and psychopathic behavior. Talk therapy is an invaluable tool in dealing with situations like these. Boy trouble, the child will live, making typical childlike mistakes that you learn from, the child will most likely live. If an elder is abusing a child extensively to a point of a nervous breakdown, that could cause death by stress. ANYBODY can have a heart attack. Kids have heart conditions just like they have cancer and a lot of other disturbing illness they do not deserve. If you think this child has a heart condition and you know they are under an intense amount of stress, you need to take this child to the doctor and have them examined before something bad happens.Can a child die because of stress? No I am sure there have been no such cases.. unless a child was relentelssly driven by the parents.. to do more and more.. and that could cause such traumatic depression in the child to not want to go on living with such pressure driven parents... Stress could cause a child with a birth defect.. a weak heart.. perhaps to die.. Emotional stress is worse than physical stress.. In cases of stress anyone can get depression and depression if not dealt with, could lead to suicide.. in that way it could lead to death brought on by depression with suicide as a result.. due to emotional stress...

Most defense lawyers would probably say that it is always best for the defendant NOT to take the stand. Some reasons for this would be the fact that once you're on the stand, the prosecutor can ask you flat out whether you did it or not, and you are legally bound to tell the truth, which, if you're guilty, would amount to a confession and would certainly get you convicted. Additionally, if the lawyer knows you're guilty he can't advise you to lie, so he MUST keep you off the stand. If he lets you go on the stand he's letting you incriminate yourself, which no good defense lawyer could do.
Besides this, you might inadvertently say something on the stand that opens up a line of questioning you'd rather keep closed, or you might be asked to testify about other things you've done that you'd rather the jury didn't hear about.
So those are a few of the reasons a good lawyer will try to keep most defendants off the stand.

The socks are not good. I used a sock before, and it is not good. The nano will slip out of the sock and fall. I would recommend an Agent 18 case. They really protect the iPod.

I have an 18month old daughter at hoem and i am currently working in a nursing hoem with MRSA cases... i do coem in contact with residents that have MRSA and i do frequently wash my hands properly... but right after work i pick my daughter up from day care... i am way to worried as to whether i should wash my clothes right away or not even come in contact with my daughter until i get hom and change..... I understand that the accusative is used for the direct object etc. the one I am having trouble with is the Nominative.
If we look at this for example:
The teacher went to school.
This sentence is the nominative, yet the teacher is the indirect object so surely should be in the dative because the teacher is the indirect object. But then also the teacher is the subject of the sentence so could also be nominative.

There seems to be alot of confusion or ignorance towards this subject. Awhile ago a boyscout leader caught national attention about his private life when the christian based association discovered he was gay. Like most ignorant groups they took it upon themselves to remove the man from the boyscouts and nationally tried to embarass him. They feared, I guess, that he would try to make them gay or try to have sex with the troop. These over zealous groups clearly confuse homosexuallity with petaphilia. They not only are not the same but aren't even remotely in the same universe. The hypocracy of it all is that they do not kick out petaphile priests who molest alterboys but just sweep them undernieth some other parishional rug.

I want to be able to sort them in alphabetical order so that I can easily find the titles I want, but I don't want to have to re-sort them every time I add a new DVD to my collection (so it would be nice to find a large capacity case with sleeves I can move around).
I'd like ideas for affordable, moveable storage, like boxes or disc cases (as I have 2 600-disc cases now and they just got filled so I need more space, but as I add to my collection they are getting out of order.

Do you have any case suggestions or recommendations for the second generation 16GB iPod Touch? and should I even bother getting a screen protector too? I know finger prints will show up and it's REALLY hard to scratch the screen...but what do you think...?

The reason the prisoners took their case to court was that when they were on the methadone treatment programme, they were receiving support and help to stop using heroin. However when they went to prison the methadone was stopped and they were automatically put into cold turkey situations, no drugs, no alternatives, no support to stop.
Most of the 200 claimed that they have since become drug users again, because the support was not there when they went into cold turkey. They are only getting an average payment of 拢3,750.

They would promptly go into the alley to the rear of the office that was handing them out and - you guessed it - shoot up. Then they would throw they used needles on the ground and leave.
We were not allowed to arrest these bottom-feeders because the City Council said it could be entrapment.
I felt so sorry for the residents in that area, as they would leave to go to work in the morning, they would find the alley littered with needles, sometimes sleeping junkies, and who-knows-what kind of other filth and detrius strewn up and down the area.
Plus the junkies would then target the residential section for burglaries so they could get more money for dope.
Well the end of this story is, the building where this office was got burned down by the same junkies they were giving needles to. One of them set a fire in the rear lobby to keep warm because they woke up after all of the shelters were closed.
The whole thing is crazy.

How long can a custody case stay open, before it is automatically dropped?
We were served custody papers in March '09 for my step-son. We filed for dismissal of the case and it was denied. We have not heard anything since then. I am just wondering how long this case can stay open before it is automatically dropped? Or will it never be and she can keep it open forever??? I converted a Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA. The federal taxes were withheld - all is well with that (I think). The state taxes were not withheld. Now I owe the state a bunch of money. If you are under age 59 1/2, the answer is more complicated.
If you had previous regular annual contributions in your Roth IRA that you have not yet been withdrawn, then you can withdraw them at any time for any reason without penalty.
However, if the only contributions to your Roth IRA came from the conversion, then you have to wait at least 5 years or until you turn 59 1/2 (whichever comes first) to take a penalty-free withdrawal. If you withdraw part of the converted amount (for any reason) it will be subject to the 10% penalty, but not to income taxes, until after the 5-year waiting period has passed.
From an investment standpoint, it is almost always a bad idea to take money out of your IRA to pay taxes. It is also a bad idea to have taxes withheld from a conversion. It is a better idea to convert a smaller amount that you can afford to pay taxes on with outside money.
The problem is that the amount withheld for taxes will be treated as a distribution from your IRA and be subject to both income taxes and the 10% penalty if you are under 59 1/2. (Yes, you have to pay taxes on the amount taken out for taxes!) And it will reduce the amount of money growing in your IRA.

By choosing to let Romania join the European Union, there are economic advantages because they have low cost labor and their tax system is brilliant for new businesses.

Social benefits for me should always come first... as this is something money cannot buy. I don't personally see any benefit if whole communities are disgruntled by changing demographics.
My view is that it should be controlled. Free borders allowing potentially anyone in their millions to flock to Western Europe is not sensible. The government should stand firm against EU laws which will have negative bearings on the country. So my answer is take both. Take the economic benefits with the social factor in consideration also. There is no reason why both cannot be implemented.
P.S. You mentioned Romania in a negative view. There are only 1 country and if all the other new EU countries have freedom of movement rights it's a little unfair to say crime etc. is down to that population. Just my view to keep things balanced.

I think EU decisions should focus primarily on social issues. every country should have the right to take its own stance on things like employment, taxation, traditions on how much the state gets involved. Take France and the Uk for instance, we're a free market of the laissez faire tradition, they favour a mixed economy (and so do I, but this is besides the point) and it would be wrong to impose one countries approach on another when that countries inhabitants are the ones who will reap the consequences, not those in wherever the other approach is coming from

This is where I think there is more room for agreement and debate as a whole continent, as these are things that, more or less transcend nationality, although immigration is possibly an exception to that due to large differences in demographics.
